Project Scope​

Make the Archimedes Dri­ve pro­ducible (at large) scale and cost effective.

IMSys­tems devel­ops and man­u­fac­tures a new gen­er­a­tion of gear­box­es. Con­trary to the wide­ly used trans­mis­sion of force tho­rugh geat teeth, IMSys­tems’ so called Archimedes Dri­ve trans­mits force through hol­low fric­tion rollers.​Prior to FASTTRACK, IMSys­tems has proven the tech­ni­cal fea­si­bil­i­ty of their tech­nol­o­gy. To become a real­i­ble and com­pet­i­tive sup­pli­er for the robot­ics indus­try, they need­ed to prove their prod­uct qual­i­ty and lead time.

Partner Environment​

Hirschvo­gel has a vast amount of exper­tise con­cern­ing large-scale man­u­fac­tur­ing hard­ware prod­ucts.​ This project took place in the prod­uct devel­op­ment depart­ment with Advanced Engi­neer­ing, Tech­ni­cal Sales and Cal­cu­la­tion experts.

Project Result​

The expert sup­port by Hirschvo­gel was a major mile­stone for IMSys­tems. The results not only proof, that the Archimedes Dri­ve can be man­u­fac­tured in large scale and be a com­mer­cial­ly viable tech­nol­o­gy, but also brings along high­er per­for­ma­ce at low­er COGS for future customers.
